The 03rd training session on the new technology of American Standard non-destructive Testing - Alternating Current Electromagnetic Field Testing (ACFM) in 2025 was successfully held at LUKE NDT recently.

The course content covers the basic principles, equipment performance, technical features and practical application cases of alternating current electromagnetic field detection (ACFM). Through detailed explanations and practical demonstrations, the trainees gained a deeper understanding and mastery of ACFM technology. Alternating current electromagnetic field detection technology (ACFM) is an emerging electromagnetic non-destructive testing technology developed on the basis of alternating current voltage drop method (ACPD), which can rapidly detect surface defects and near-surface defects in all ferromagnetic and non-ferromagnetic conductive materials.

The smooth implementation of this training not only helped the trainees systematically master the core theories and practical skills of ACFM, but also cultivated their comprehensive judgment and application abilities in the face of actual engineering problems. ACFM technology has been incorporated into the compliance testing processes of American standards (such as ASME and ASTM) and serves as one of the core technologies for defect assessment of key structural components. With the continuous deepening of technological accumulation and talent reserves, ACFM will play a more important role in non-destructive testing and security.
